This winter, over 20,000 pensioners across Southport will lose their Winter Fuel Allowance because Labour have prioritised paying off unions with inflation busting pay deals over helping our pensioners.
Across the country over 10 million pensioners will be affected, with Age UK estimating that 2 million of the poorest pensioners will have to choose between eating and heating this winter. Labour's own estimates state that around 4,000 pensioners could die because of the removal of the Winter Fuel Allowance.
In Southport, Labour MP, Patrick Hurley, voted to take away the Winter Fuel Allowance and every single Labour councillor in Southport on Sefton Council voted against supporting our struggling pensioners.
We are campaigning to have the government's decision reversed and we need your help.
Complete this survey and sign our petition so we can send a message to our Labour MP here in Southport and the Labour government in Westminster that we, unlike them, do care about our pensioners and want to see the decision reversed.
